The economy is in shambles, wars rage on in Afghanistan and Iraq, and we’re knee deep in an intense presidential race. Everywhere you look, politics rears its head. attica blues was released in 1972, a year after the attica prison riots, so saying that it was released in 1960 would make archie shepp not only an avant-garde saxaphonist, but also one hell of a fortune teller.
