Do you remember your very first make out song? How about your first lovemaking song?

Luckily, I remember my first make out to music experience all too well and still smirk thinking about how perfect Spandau Ballet’s, “True,” was for my introduction to the world of suck face at that junior high dance. Unfortunately, the special moment came to a quick halt when my mother showed up early and poked me on the shoulder with ‘the look.” It was completely humiliating at the time, but, the song definitely helped set the tone for my first full fledged tongue swapping experience.

Sadly, I don’t quite recall the first music-induced bed romp, though. Perhaps, it wasn’t that memorable. Who knows?!?

The best make out songs are the ones that set the mood and offer a sexy background for the intimate moment. On the other hand, I’m of the opinion that any song can be a make out song if the atmosphere is steamy enough. From the sultry groove of Barry White to the dirtiness of Tool, music intensifies the action underneath the sheets or on the kitchen table.

“True” by Spandau Ballet

This song offered a balance of innocent cooing and intense yearning. Would this song work in this era? You be the judge. Chances are it wouldn’t, but it melted the ladies back in the ’80s, especially little ol’ me.

“Only When I Lose Myself” by Depeche Mode

Hot Hot Hot! This song even gets me excited listening to it by myself. Okay, that sounded forward, but the sexiness of the track is guaranteed to leave clothes on your bedroom floor the morning after, and if you replay it, the mood continues to swelter. Enough said.

“Let’s Get It On” by Marvin Gaye

It’s no surprise that Marvin would fall into the make out song shuffle. The lyrics say it all and the groove is simply perfect for that long awaited moment. Yes, it’s quite cliché, but how can you go wrong?

Barry White – any of his songs!

I’m sure bedrooms all over the globe miss the sexiness of his music. Basically, anything by Barry White will help set the tone for an intense encounter. Trust me on this. Sexy was Barry’s middle name. RIP Barry. Your deep voice left my bed sizzling for many years.

“Darling Nikki” by Prince

Not to be confused with the Foo Fighter’s cover of the song. Prince’s version of “Darling Nikki” just oozes seduction to me. Perhaps it’s being fascinated with the movie, “Purple Rain,” as a teenager, but this song definitely makes my top list of makeout songs.

And finally…

“Prison Sex” by Tool

Yes, I know, the concept of this song is pretty raw, but for that rough playground experience, this track sets the ideal tone! It’s one of my personal favorites and gets me easily excited.
