Ever wonder what some of your favorite artists music memories are? After he checked out JamsBio himself, I got a chance to ask singer/songwriter and Verve Pipe front man Brian Vander Ark, what some of his very own music memories are.

JB: What song would you say is the song that inspired you to become a musician?
BVA: Song Sung Blue (Neil Diamond). First pop song I remember hearing. I loved to sing along with it.

JB: When you think back on your childhood, what’s the first song that comes to mind?
BVA:Song Sung Blue here to.

JB: When you look back to your first kiss, what song goes through your head?
BVA:Just Between You and Me, by April Wine.

JB: What song reminds you of your closest friend while growing up?
BVA:Taxi by Harry Chapin

JB: Lots of songs have been written about life on the road, when you think about your experiences on tour, what song do you think of first?
BVA:Turn The Page – Bob Seger

JB: What song do you relate to the moment that you felt you’d “made it” as a rock star?
BVA: First time opening for Kiss

JB: If you had to pick one song to represent your high school years, what would it be?
BVA: Anything by Loverboy

JB: What song do you want played at your funeral?
BVA: Remember When The Music by Harry Chapin

JB: What song takes you back to your first love?
BVA: With One More Look At You – Barbara Streisand

JB:All time favorite song?
BVA: God Only Knows, Beach Boys

JB: Any thoughts about music & memories?
BVA: Not really – just that I grew up listening to what everyone else was listening to at the time – pop radio.

Thanks so much Brian for taking the time to check out JamsBio and sharing some music memories of your own! You can catch Brian on his solo tour this summer in support of his January self titled release. No way! Great interview Meghan…will check out Brian’s solo gig. I hung out with Brian and the rest of The Verve Pipe when they played The Metro in Chicago…think it was 1996. A friend – another drummer in a band – was good friends with Donny Brown, VP’s drummer. Affirmed my regret of not being a rock star…babes galore.
