Summer is fast approaching and it’s getting to be that perfect time of year for prom dates, camping under the stars, parking with your sweetie under a starry sky, or if you’re like me, simply catching up on some one on one time with the hubby after the kids have gone to bed. I’ve compiled a list of my all time top 10 make out tunes, guaranteed to add a little romance to even the most lackluster evening. No matter what your romantic status is.

1. Marvin Gaye – Let’s Get It On
No one says… well, no one says “Let’s Get It On” better than Marvin, and though it could be argued that Sexual Healing is the better of the two most classic make out songs of all time, it’s truly a matter of preference. I myself am a sucker for this one. It gets me everytime.

2. Bob Marley – Is This Love
As with most top 10 anything lists, I’ve got to include some Marley. This tune especially because no matter who you’re making out with, or where you are, it will turn any make out session into a fantasy with Tom Cruise on the beaches of Jamaica… Or is that just me?

3.  Chris Isaack – Wicked Game
Probably one of the most sultry songs ever composed. The lyrics, the melody, the voice, will melt the coldest heart into butter. BUTTER.

4. Etta James – At Last
No one sings about true love like Etta, and there is not a better song to have playing while sharing a romantic moment under the stars on a summer night.

5. Spandau Ballet – True
I suppose some may argue this choice, but of all the awesome eighties ballads out there, nothing says teenage romance like True. After all, how many movies & TV shows have used this song? It could probably have it’s own list…

6. John Mayer – You’re Body Is A Wonderland
Really, if you don’t get this one you should probably listen to the lyrics. It’s pretty much speaks for itself.

7. INXS – Need You Tonight
The beat alone on this tune can make the most crowded room suddenly seem like it’s disappeared, leaving only you and your man (or lady) feeling as though you’re the only two people left in the world (I do admit that it was a close race between this and Never Tear Us Apart).

8. Van Morrison – Into The Mystic
Though Van The Man has a number of tunes that would be considered for best make-out songs, this is by far my favorite. Maybe it’s those horns…

9. Skid Row – I Remember You
I had to have one eighties metal tune to represent them all. Because we all know that any metal ballad from the eighties was and still is great make-out material.

10. James Brown – Try Me
My reason here is strictly personal. Let’s just say a good girl never kisses and tells….I think you get the point.
