For those with infinite patience, dedication and strength, the Guns ‘n Roses Chinese Democracy situation/drama/debacle has taken an interesting turn. In what may perhaps be devastating news for anyone involved in the creation, sales and marketing of the long-in-the-making opus, all studio versions of the songs have leaked.

Via a good source, the leaked version has 11 tracks. Two versions of the same song are present, ala “Don’t Cry” on the Illusions albums. One track has a sample of a Martin Luther King, Jr. speech, as was often played in live renditions over the last tours. Again, this is a leak and it is not clear what the final tracklisting will resemble.

In a very concise review, the source says that Chinese Democracy is the best album of 1997, with many songs sounding the same.

In official news, Guns ‘n Roses has made a statement about the sudden and surprise defection of Robin Finck from guitar duties for Guns ‘n Roses to play in the soon-to-hit-the-road latest version of Nine Inch Nails. The statement, available on gunsnroses.com, seems a bit defensive and random. Will this mark the return of Buckethead, who supposedly does have his guitar sound on the final Chinese Democracy album?

After countless articles from bloggers and journalists across the globe, including the NY Times (”The Most Expensive Album Never Made”) & Rolling Stone (”What Happened To Axl Rose?”), what will this year bring for the bandleader who helmed possibly one of the greatest rock ‘n roll debut albums in history? And if this leak proves challenging, wait till the press asks over and over what he’s been doing for the last thirteen years.
